Foreword

Every note in this volume begins with a question a reader types before a job move: what happens to a CV in the first thirty seconds, what an assessment day scores, what must appear in the written statement on day one, what a greenkeeper does in February. Each note answers its question in the opening paragraph, then sets out the sections a reader can jump to and names the sources the desk read. The notes are filed under four sections, Applications, Interviews, Pay and contracts, Sectors and trades, and each carries the date it was checked.
